A very social but chilled atmosphere, conveniently located with friendly staff. The amenities were well maintained and clean. Stayed in the 4F, 'shoebox' room - bed was comfortable, was provided with storage and having the ensuite was great. The common area had plenty of boardgames to break the ice with other travellers.
Overall, a great stay and would not hesitate to return! :)
This has been, by far, the best hostel I have stayed in. It is huge, and has so many fantastic facilities including a large communal kitchen and fridge, bar, hair salon, club and so much more. Make sure to explore whilst you are there. It's within a 5/6 minute walk to the closest Metro station and has an express supermarket around the corner, as well as lots of restaurants, and an open-air swimming pool. I stayed in a 4-bed all-female room and it was in fabulous condition. Each person has a locker (bring a padlock or rent one from reception), and a bed with an electronic safe for valuables. Each bed also comes with linen, an EU plug socket and personal light. It was extremely clean and tidy, and plenty of space for 4 people. There was also a desk and chair to work at should you want it. The bathroom was spacious enough for 1 person, with a standing shower, toilet, sink and mirror, and was once again in fabulous clean condition (and one of the better shared en-suites I've been in). It was such a pleasant experience, and I will definitely be back soon.
I struggled to come up with anything I didn't like, so my one addition would be larger shared bathrooms (perhaps on each floor) so that you didn't have to wait (or go down to the basement toilets) if someone was in the bathroom. But honestly, this wasn't a problem I experienced.
I stayed in a 4 bedroom female dorm. There were enough security amenities for me to feel my belongings were safe. However, there was not enough stowage/surfaces to allow for an organized space. Would have liked to see more drawers/organization tools. Furthermore, the cleaning regime wasn't very clear, and there was no hand towel included, which would have been nice.
But in conclusion, the staff was always helpful, the concept is very fun and the facilities were pleasant enough.
Great hostel, really friendly staff, modern facilities and everything you need is available. It's a pity that they really cheaped out on the beds. They are ridiculously noisy in every way, think about thin metal sheets which make that wobbling sound when you move them. That's what you'll deal with every time someone touches a bed. Plus, no curtains. Otherwise a really good hostel in a not central but still convenient location.
My stay was very good with plenty of activities and social opportunities. The hostel dorms were great but it'd be cool if there were curtains or dividers for the beds. It was disappointing that there were no facilities to wash clothes like it said on Hostelworld. They instead gave an address for a cash only place 10 minutes away. Everything else about the hostel was amazing.
We really liked staying in this hostel, it is the first one that we really felt it was worth staying. The location is perfect because you are away from the hustle and bustle and you can walk to the center without any problems, although the subway station is also very close. It is super clean, the food itself (breakfast, lunch, etc.) is delicious, and the atmosphere is super friendly and comfy. I would stay at any YellowSquare Hostel again.
My first experience in a hostel and i loved it! Everything was perfect, they organized an activity each night and did a hidden gims tour of the city plus the staff were amazing. Hopefully I will be staying again here or they expand there branches!
YellowSquare Hostel in Milan exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by their incredibly helpful staff who made sure my stay was comfortable. The rooms were pristine and cozy, ensuring a restful night’s sleep. What truly sets this place apart is their delectable food offerings and the range of activities they provide, making sure there’s never a dull moment. In essence, YellowSquare has everything one looks for in a top-tier hostel. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Milan!
